8 TIPS to create an accessible “Resort Style” Entrance.
- Use Smartboard siding & shakes for low maintenance.
- I specified a charcoal metal roof
- The owner liked the cedar look but wanted low maintenance so I chose a ‘cedar-look’ metal for the soffits.
- We used log accents on the exterior and fir, maple and cherry wood interior details.
- I designed accent lighting outside to light the stairs, ramp and up-lit the house.
- We raised the ground on one side of the steps to create a transitionless entrance to the steps.
- I selected multi-lock, lever-style handles for security and ease of use.
- A security gate and low-maintenance circular driveway dotted with centre and perimeter plants give this home both beauty and peace of mind.
I also designed a no-transition entrance from the home to the backyard and sunk the hot tub to make it more accessible.
