Jan’s Kitchen After

Here is my personal before and after kitchen renovation. I used my system Design Dominoes – The Interior Process Game (c) to create a kitchen that added huge value to our home and that our family and friends love to spend time in.

  1. ART & Style: I started the design process by using our floor tile as we liked it and wanted to keep it. Also, it added to the Heritage Spanish theme to choose the counters, tiles and cabinet colour.
  2. BUDGET: We changed all our appliances: from an electric range to a gas range (required running a gas line and permits) Fridge/Freezer; Dishwasher and OTR microwave. Also, all new plumbing fixtures: Low divide double Silgranite sink; spray faucet and removed our garburator and added an instant hot water faucet.
  3. COLOUR Direction: Cabinet and trim > BM Floral White // Wall colour: Behr Private Black
  4. DESIGN Elements: Expanded the Island from 24 x 68 to 42″W x 72″L to make a breakfast bar.
  5. EXISTING Features: The walls had to remain in the same location I just designed them around our new Fridge and Freezer.
  6. FLOOR PLANS: I designed the cabinets and island to make the most use of our little space.
  7. GRAND THEME: See the videos below.
